I want to release my breath
But I don’t know if I can
Every time I do
I regret it
I let my guard down
Like the morning glory opens its petals for the sun
Only to discover I’ve let
In the darkness instead
My body aches from the tension
Of holding my breath
The stillness
Leaves me stiff and stilted
I don’t want to wait with baited breath
For the next disaster to come
Until I take my last
leave a coffee tip here :-) ☕️✨
You are a great poet.
Thank you so much. I am honored. ❤️🥹
